Meet your psychologist,
Tali Prasad
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST & FOUNDER OF THE HOLDING SPACE BRISBANE
As a therapist, I deeply honor the courage and vulnerability involved in engaging in therapy and committing to your own wellbeing. At the core of my work is a deep belief in the human capacity for change, healing, and growth.
I work with people who want to understand themselves more deeply and I help them find ways of living that feel more grounded, connected, authentic, and fulfilling. Many of the people I see are thoughtful and capable, but feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure how to make sense of what they’re experiencing. I offer a safe space to slow down, exhale, openly share, and steadily make sense of your experiences. As a holistic and person-centred therapist, I am interested in how your history, relationships, and environment have shaped the ways you cope and relate to yourself and your world.
My approach is grounded in trust, respect, and collaboration, and is also body-aware and culturally attuned. With extensive professional experience and lived experience, I like to bring a blend of expertise, authenticity, relatability, and genuine warmth and care to every session.
I aim to understand your unique identity & life experience & use various modalities to tailor therapy to your individual needs, goals, values, & pace. My work focuses on creating emotional safety, respects your complexity, & extends beyond insight and surface coping. Together we'll work on understanding and addressing recent or chronic challenges, build self-awareness and uncover underlying emotional, relational, and thinking patterns and coping responses that may have once been helpful but are now ineffective or problematic. Creating room for more intentional, compassionate and adaptive ways of being.
I am especially passionate about helping my clients build their self-trust, agency, self-worth, and compassion that allows them to be well and thrive. Most of my clients report a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first three sessions and sustained improvement thereafter.

Meet Odin
UNOFFICIAL PAW-FESSIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL
Odin is The Holding Space's resident support animal. He is a super soft, calm and cuddly 6 year-old Samoyed with a big heart, and you might see him lounging around the clinic or in session occassionally. Being the paw-fessional that he is however, Odin will only attend sessions with your consent.
Odin isn't an official therapy dog, but he does offer supportive cuddles and a therapeutic presence to our clients. He is very fond of pats, playing fetch, showing off his tricks (when he is in the mood to listen or if treats are involved), and will never say no to a treat. He is a very gentle, social, loving and loyal animal, who hopes to brighten your experience with his big smiley face.
We understand that some people can feel scared or nervous around dogs, so Odin works on an opt-in rather than opt-out basis. If you are concerned, just let us know what you prefer!
